Special Needs Inclusion Ministry

The Special Needs Inclusion Ministry is an outreach ministry to ensure that families and individuals with special needs experience welcome, support and spiritual nourishment within a faith community.

There is a Caregivers Support Group that meets on the second Monday of the month, 6:30 to 7:30pm in the St. Joseph Room, on the first floor of St. Joseph Parish Center at 1119 Lafayette Street.   We offer a safe place for caregivers to pray, share information and resources with others who understand the demands of caregiving.  Each evening starts with a potluck meal, so feel free to bring food to share if you wish. (Okay to park in adjacent “Staff Only” parking lot since it’s after business hours.)

In addition, a Planning Team meets regularly to discuss needs and opportunities to improve inclusion of those with special needs and their families in parish programs and events.  For more information, contact Jenny Dow at
