YLI is an organization of Catholic women dedicated to the Christian principles of charity and love. Founded in San Francisco in 1887 by three young women inspired to help an ill friend, its purpose is to help others. We offer support, friendship, leadership training and the opportunity to make a difference to those in need.
Through participation in YLI's charitable projects you will have the opportunity to promote the work of the Church while working hand in hand with other Catholic women. Each year the incoming president selects a program of charitable activities. They include but are not limited to Special Olympics, Hospice, Children in Need, and Guide Dogs for the Blind. Other spiritual, cultural and educational activities are also available. For more information, or to join, please contact Marilyn Darrell at 510-523-1500 or mseverdia@yahoo.com.
